Q: Why do you feel it’s important to give back to your local community?

This is where I live, where I became a fashion designer along with my friends at school and where I began working on my own future. Everything is with Vancouver and I want to be able to give back to the people I live with.

Q: Why do you think it’s important for youths to be involved in art and culture?

Art and culture is everything, it makes you who you are. Art and culture shows our character and who we are as individuals. This is how we bond with the people we are surrounded by.

Q: What do you like about the Little Black Dress Gala?

I like that they are giving everyone the same opportunity to show themselves. There is no bias about anything starting from the affordability to the level of experience required. For myself, that is a really important part that I appreciate.

Q: Who is an important woman in your life?

My mom. There is absolutely no doubt about it! She is my life and has taught me everything!

Q: What are you most excited about for the gala?

My family is coming! My dad is coming to Vancouver and will see my collection and show for the first time. My family is from Iran and they go back and forth. This will be the first time that my mom, dad and brother will be able to see my show all together.

Q: What is the inspiration or theme behind your collection?

My collection is classic hollywood glamor. I want my collection to show people that you can achieve an elegant and luxurious look without having to resort to animal cruelty. All of my pieces use cruelty-free man made material such as faux-fur.
